Allan A. Martin hosts International Business and Technology trade show
The future looks bright for the grade 8 IBT students at Allan A. Martin Senior Public School in Mississauga. This year's International Business and Technology Trade Show, "The Future We Want," will showcase the work of 129 aspiring, young entrepreneurs on May 9.
"The IBT Trade Show is the grand finale of a two-year intensive business and technology program," says Cathy Standring, principal at Allan A. Martin. "It showcases the many, varied and creative talents of a young group of entrepreneurs. Throughout the program, students have learned skills in teamwork, personal management, business planning, advertising, promotion, and sales. We're very proud of our students for the time and effort they have put forth to be successful."
During the trade show, featured exhibits will include student-designed business ventures and marketing promotions. All of the grade 8 students will showcase their projects to students, family, friends and guests.
The IBT program is a regional program open to students entering grade 7 from across Peel. It prepares students for the challenges and changes of the 21st century in a world of business, technology and teamwork.
Opening ceremonies for "The Future We Want" will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Allan A. Martin gymnasium and will feature Jim O'Connell, anchor of Business Day on ROB TV, as the keynote speaker. Guests are invited to a short tribute to the young entrepreneurs and will then have time to visit student displays and buy a variety of items from their businesses. More information on the trade show is available on the school web site--www.aamartin.on.ca. Allan A. Martin is located at 1390 Ogden Avenue.
The trade show will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m., 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
