Special EducationThe Peel board offers a wide range of special education programs, services and supports. We know that children and teens are more confident and successful in school when we support their learning in a variety of ways. The Peel board website has extensive information about our special education programs and services, including our complete annual special education plan. This website contains definitions for commonly used terms in special education in Ontario, compiled by the Ontario Association for Families of Children with Communication Disorders. It can be difficult to know all of the terms and language associated with special education. Here are some common acronyms to help. Other special education resources: Adaptive Technology Resource Centre (University of Toronto) offers a Resource for Kids, Parents, and Community. You can find out about camps and recreation, parent resources, safe schools and transitions. Adaptive Technology Resource Centre (University of Toronto) provides links to the websites of special needs advocacy groups. |
