1. Information Session and Assessment
The first step is to come to an information session held on the first Friday of each month at 9:30 am and the first Tuesday evening of each month at 6:30 pm. No appointment or registration is necessary. Sessions in Brampton are held at 7700 Hurontario Street, Suite 300 and in Mississauga at 100 Elm Drive, Room 120. Please bring original documentation of Canadian citizenship or immigration to the information session.

Please do not bring children to the information session or the assessment. There is no childcare.

The information and assessment session is about three hours.

2. Orientation
The following 2 Fridays or 2 or 3 Tuesday evenings will be spent:

  • Talking about study skills and how you learn best
  • How to study
  • Setting your goals
  • Showing you how use the computer to help to research your goals

This prepares you for the Essential Skills program. The time spent will be a total of about 9 hours.

3. Registration
If the classes are full, you will be placed on a waitlist or referred to another agency.
If there is space, you can start immediately.
You will be contacted as soon as there is a space for you in the classroom.
