1. Call for an assessment of your language skills
Call us at our Brampton campus (905)791-6700 x 221 or our Mississauga campus (905)270-6000 x 400 to set up an assessment of your language skills. All students must complete a language assessment to help find the level of class best suited to them. This is not a pass/fail test, but rather a “how can we help you best” test. Assessments are offered Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. all year round. Your appointment will usually take place about two weeks after you book it.

2. Take the assessment
  • If you were referred to us by an agency, please bring the agency form.
  • Please bring original immigration documents or your proof of Canadian citizenship. These may include:
    • Proof of Canadian Citizenship (Passport, Citizenship Card or Certificate)
    • Confirmation of Permanent Resident Status (Permanent Resident Card PRC or IMM5292)
    • Proof of Landed Immigrant Status (Record of Landing IMM1000)
    • Any immigration documents the family may have which may include:
      • Temporary Resident Permit
      • Work Permit/Employment Authorization
      • Refugee claimants/Convention Refugees
      • Application for Landing/Approval in Principle (sponsorship within Canada)
      • Minister's Permits (and/or extension thereof )
  • The assessment covers the four language skills—reading, writing, listening and conversation. You may view a sample of the material we use for assessments.
Note: We do not have child-minding services for assessment clients. Please make arrangements as the assessment can take up to 1.5 hours or more.

3. Your results
You will be assigned your language level at the completion of the assessment.

4. Enrol in your class
After your assessment, you will also receive information about when and where to register, what school you will attend and other details of the enrolment process. Enrolment generally starts a week before class.

Note: Our assessment is for class placement purposes only. Results are not recognized as official Canadian Language Benchmark documentation.
